I was diagnosed with mosaic Turner syndrome at almost 26 years old (I am about to turn 30). Since then, it has been a very up and down journey emotionally. All the doctor’s visits and information were initially overwhelming, but I am grateful I have minimal symptoms.
The main issues I have to monitor are my bone health and blood sugar, along with making sure my heart continues to stay in good shape. My husband, family, and friends have been very supportive, which I am so thankful for. The infertility aspect continues to be a grieving process for me, but I am glad to have the TSSUS groups so that I can get support from those who understand more about what I’m going through.
I was also very fortunate to have two close friends nearby that have Turner syndrome and they've been a great support as well. I want to encourage other girls and women with TS (as well as parents expecting a child with TS) that we can live as normal lives as anybody else. I went to college and got a master’s degree, got married, and work full time in a hospital setting. Take things one day at a time. You've got this!
