A Whirlwind of Testing by Nancy Blake

Updated: Jan 24, 2023

Our daughter, Liza, was diagnosed with Turner syndrome (TS) at birth. It was a whirlwind of echocardiograms and testing over those first few days of life. She had an open-heart surgery at 5 days old to repair severe coarctation the aorta. She has had other issues related to TS including duplicated kidney and aortic valve stenosis.

Though we are already plugged in with multiple specialists, it has been reassuring to have access to the Turner Syndrome checklist for families and healthcare providers. As our daughter gets older, I’m sure she will love to attend the TSSUS National Turner Syndrome Conference and make new friends. She will be turning 6 this month. Thank you for the work you do!
