Professional CME Credit Information
Learn more about Turner syndrome by taking a free 1 hour course that applies as a 1 hour credit for the AMA and ANCC.
Dr. Kurt Midyett, TS endocrinology specialist, presents a compelling case for the need of an early diagnosis of TS and how school nurses, nurses and physicians can recognize TS in young girls with TS. The objective of this free course is to reduce the age in which a girl is diagnosed with TS. Currently more than 1/2 of girls with TS are NOT diagnosed until after the age of 11 years in the United States. Why? There isn't a "look", a "disability" or a characteristic that can be generalized to include all girls and women with TS, EXCEPT SHORT STATURE.
Within the course there are resources such as a Letter to Parents explaining a height test was performed and a follow up with a physician is recommended. Additionally, there is a TS Screening Tool that offers professionals a quick reference for commonalities for those diagnosed with TS.
