ABOUT OUR LOCAL AREA RESOURCES

The Turner Syndrome Society has many local resources available nationwide to our members. Each group is developed and maintained by generous volunteers and is tailored to the community it serves. Therefore, the range and type of programs and services vary from from one another. Typical services include local educational meetings, social gatherings, fundraisers and help-lines. Help-lines allow local volunteers to provide emotional support to local callers as well as information about TS, local services and community resources. Additional services include newsletters, local conferences, and scholarship opportunities on the local level. Group leaders allow non-members to participate in one event prior to joining the National Society, and although membership is strongly encouraged it is not required for participation in a support group.

Local area resourses provide services that allows peer or professionally led groups to offer emotional support and social interaction to its members. It is our goal to offer support to every individual within the community that needs support. These groups may exist in regions that are a great distance from chapter events or allow for specialized groups within a chapter. They may include but are not limited to children, teens, adult women, parents, etc.

To find out more about the services located in your community, please see below for a list of resources. If there is not a resource in your area, please consider the opportunity to start a group or contact the National Office at 800-365-9944, fax 832-912-6446 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it for more information.
